‘TEAM CHAMPION’ FOCUS ON ROTTERDAM

‘Team Champion’ will be focussing their attention on the next leg of the Meydan FEI Nations Cup taking place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands next week.
Derek Ricketts, British Team Manager has announced his quartet which will feature the following riders:
Nick Skelton from Alcester, Warwickshire with Nemo 119, Carlo 273 and Tortola. All three of Nick’s horses are owned by Beverley Widdowson.
Robert Smith from Shrewley in Warwickshire with Balourado owned by S.L.I Lisman, Columbia XI owned by Michael Dawson and Vangelis S owned by Sharon Baldwin.
Geoff Billingtonfrom Nantwich, Cheshire with Rosinus owned by Patricia Fraser, Pedro VI and Uppercut II, both owned by Patricia Fraser.
Michael Whitaker from Whatton, Notts with Fairviews Mirabelle d’Or owned by Deborah Cox, Wonami van den Aard owned by Fabian Schreiber and Tackeray owned by Michelle Gatland.
Great Britain currently lies in sixth place on the Meydan FEI Nations Cup Leaderboard. The United States currently lead with Switzerland in second and Germany in third.
The history of the Rotterdam Horse Show dates back to pre-World War II when the first competition took place in 1937. This was a national competition with participants from all over the Netherlands taking part. In 1947, some Belgian riders were invited to enter the competitions and by 1948 the show became international. The Meydan FEI Nations Cup takes place on Friday 19th June 2009 at 13:30 GMT and the Grand Prix of Rotterdam on Sunday 21st June 2007 at 13:30 GMT. Results can be followed at www.chio.nl.
