Tahnia Jordan Jones Wins Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at Quainton Stud

The first Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round of the season was kicked off in style at Quainton Stud in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, as seventy-six competitors took to Ian Clark’s technical course.

Each starter was campaigning to secure one of the two Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final and it came down to twenty-three talented combinations who made it through to the final jump off.

Fourteen year-old Tahnia Jordon Jones made the journey from Swindon, Wiltshire to take top spot on board Jumper, an 11 year-old grey gelding owned by Julie Jordan. This pair contended with nine combinations producing a treble clear before them but with their eyes on the clock they crossed the finish line in an unbeatable time of 29.95 seconds to put them straight into first place.

Taking home the second Horse of the Year Show ticket was 16 year-old Allana Clutterbuck from Upminster, Essex riding Susan Evans’ 7 year-old bay gelding, Atomic Du Bary. From middle order this partnership produced a strong challenge, leaving all the fences standing for a treble clear score in 32.38 seconds.

The riders and ponies that finished in third to tenth took home the chance to compete in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
