Sunday 18th September: reflecting upon the life of Queen Elizabeth II
Sunday 18 September 2022
This evening, the British Showjumping community will be joining in a minute silence for the National Moment of Reflection at 8pm as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II, our late Patron.
A horse lover herself, the Queen was held in high regard amongst so many in the equestrian community. She will be remembered fondly by all, not only for her incredible dedication as monarch but also as someone who enjoyed following horse sport and the pleasure of simply riding horses, even in her nineties.
Chairman of British Showjumping, Charles Britton will represent British Showjumping at the funeral which takes place at Westminster Abbey at 11am tomorrow, the 19th September – a national bank holiday. No British Showjumping shows or training events will be taking place on this date.
Following the funeral, the Queen will be taken to Windsor Castle to her final resting place in St George’s Chapel, where she will be buried alongside her parents, sister Princess Margaret and the Duke of Edinburgh.
Our thoughts are with all the Royal family at this difficult and sad time.
