STX-UK Pony British Novice Championship Final Thrills at the British Showjumping National Championships

The STX-UK Pony British Novice Championship Final proved to be an exciting highlight at the British Showjumping National Championships, with a talented field of pony and rider combinations showcasing their skill, precision, and determination.

Out of the strong line-up, it was Jonty Hughes riding Idole Des Islots who claimed the coveted title, delivering a superb double clear and stopping the clock in an impressive 23.49 seconds in the jump-off. Their performance combined speed and accuracy to perfection, earning them the top spot on the podium.

Jonty’s tactics were simple: “I didn’t want to go too fast and make her flat, but fast enough to win it.”

In second place, Si Si Sienna Shrubb with Tarkasbrook Bright Star also produced a flawless double clear, crossing the finish line in 25.72 seconds. The pair demonstrated consistency and composure under pressure, securing a well-deserved runner-up position.

Completing the top three was Zea Emily Adams aboard Jalapena De Ashwey Z, who matched the double clear standard with a jump-off time of 25.81 seconds. Just fractions of a second behind second place, their round was a true display of competitive spirit.

The class was a fantastic showcase of the future stars of showjumping, with all three podium finishers delivering performances that highlight the exceptional standard of pony competition in Great Britain.

NB: Results pending official grading.
