‘Stepping Stones’ in the right direction!
Sunday 26 April 2009

Two mums have pooled their resource, energy and drive to put together a new series that will assist riders competing on 128/138cm ponies by giving them a giving them a ‘Stepping Stone’ series of competitions.
“We all got together and thought there’s no point saying we need a competition and not doing something about it, so let’s create one” said Sarah Evans who alongside Julie Lovett obtained the backing of another ten parents to instigate this new series.
From here, both Sarah & Julie approached British Show Jumping and discussed that they felt there was a gap for those that had mastered jumping single fence opens at 80 and 90cms but perhaps weren’t yet in a position to step up to the Small Pony National Qualifiers.
“Working with both Sarah and Julie has been inspiring. Their proactivity and pulling together of such a positive and focused team of parents deserves applauding. They saw what they felt was needed, found a solution to it and then came to us where it was our absolute pleasure to ensure it could be facilitated” commented British Show Jumping’s Julia Haywood.
The qualifiers will be held at six venues through the summer with a final in September at Weston Lawns, Warwickshire.
