South View Equestrian Centre Hosts Thrilling Large Pony Premier Weekend

South View Equestrian Centre played host to an exciting Large Pony Premier over the weekend, with competitive classes across both days showcasing impressive talent, determination and consistency from pony and rider combinations.

Winter JA – Saturday

The action got underway on Saturday with the Winter JA, where 10 rider combinations stepped up to take on Neil Foster’s technical track. Only two riders managed to produce clear rounds, earning their place in a tense jump-off.

It was a head-to-head battle between Cora Dowey, riding Sam Dowey’s Armene Du Costilg, and Holly West aboard Alison Irvine’s Runard Lass. Both riders finished the jump-off with a single fence down, but it was Dowey’s quicker time of 39.12 seconds that secured the win. West slotted into second on 43.26 seconds.

Winter JA – Sunday

Sunday’s Winter JA saw seven combinations come forward. Charlie Barker, riding Claire Vilarrubi’s Little Charlie II, took the top spot. Cora Dowey finished second on Armene Du Costlig, with both riders producing the only clear rounds of the class and choosing to withdraw after the first round.

Blue Chip Pro Sparkle JC/JA Handicap – Saturday
