Sinead Cox secures the win in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at The Harbro Scottish Home Pony

A delighted Sinead Cox secured her Horse of the Year Show pass with victory in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at The Harbro Scottish Home Pony at The Scottish National Equestrian Centre with Lislan Cruising Lady.

Thirty-eight initially bid for the two Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer with these reduced to twenty over course-designer Mark McGowan’s 12-fence track and an eventual 10 making it through to the final, hotly-contended jump-off.

The day belonged to Isle of Man based Sinead and her mother Valerie Cox’s Irish-bred 9-year-old mare Lislan Cruising Lady as the pair cruised into the top spot to win by the narrow margin of 0.10 seconds.

Megan Stanley eased another Irish-bred 9-year-old, Caroline Stanley’s Ardwholihane Bouncer into second to take the final Horse of the Year Show ticket.

Riders placed third to fifth gained the chance to compete in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships and another chance to qualify for HOYS.
