Serena Rees & Lordsoak Caramel Surprise wins Opening Championship Final

The NAF Five Star British Showjumping National Championships at Bolesworth got underway this morning under bright skies and the spectacular castle backdrop.   With the Club Championships being the first to be contested it was Serena Rees from Banbury, Oxfordshire that took the initial Championship Title when she won the 60cm Club title with Lordsoak Caramel Surprise, a 13.2hh bay gelding.

Her double clear in the warm-up class put her in good stead for the Final which also saw her post a double clear with a jump off time of 29.87 seconds to claim the win.  Sally McNaughton from Driffield in East Yorkshire took 2nd with Fierania, a 10 year old 148cm bay mare whilst Jessica Murray from Bridgewater, Somerset finished 3rd with Ava May a  9 year-old 15.3hh bay mare

Serena also went on to win the National Club 70cm Final with another double clear.  Her time of 33.50 seconds saw the relegate Anne Coombs from Reading, Berkshire into 2nd place with her 13 year-old gelding Carbanado Joe whilst Jessica Murray matched her previous 3rd place with her mare Ava May.
