Scott Brash takes a win on the Longines Global Champions tour of Stockholm

Scott Brash jumped for victory in the Fastator 5* 1.55m at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Stockholm in Sweden, with Lady Harris and Lady Kirkham’s Hello Mr President.

A total of 45 competitors tackled course designer Uliano Vezzani’s 12-fence speed track – the competition run in conjunction with the first leg of the Global Champions League – but no-one was quicker than Scott. He nailed every viable turn option at the gallop on the eager Comme D’Api V/D Hacienda Z 14-year-old to finish ahead of the World Number 1 Henrik von Eckermann and Dzara Dorchival by 1.17 seconds.

Scott Brash may have beaten Henrik on Saturday but 24 hours later, the world number 1 reversed the results to take the 5* 1.50m speed by just 0.20 seconds.

Forty-two riders chased glory in this class but Henrik smoothly claimed the top spot on Dzara Dorchival to push Scott and Hello Mr President into second spot. Jack Whitaker on Equine America Valmy De La Lande and Ben Maher’s Enjeu De Grisien were also in the mix for fifth and eighth places.

Harry Charles seized victory in the Paul Schockemohle Sporthorses 4* 1.45m on Equrie Zet Liege’s Billabong Du Roumois at Sentower Park in Belgium.

Eighty competitors tackled this world ranking two-phase class with Harry and the Mylord Carthago/Papillon Rouge 12-year-old easing ahead by 0.47 seconds of Belgium’s Anthony Wellens on Danger Civil VH Lindenhof Z.

Sameh El Dahan claimed two of the top three places in the Township Planning Cup at the Spruce Meadows National in Calgary, Canada, with Joanne Sloan-Allen’s home-bred horses, winning with WKD Toronto.

Thirty-six riders contended this 1.45m speed track designed by Olaf Petersen Jr with Sameh and the Tornesch x Carnaval Drum 10-year-old Toronto easing ahead to win by 0.40 seconds.  Sameh also picked up third on the 9-year-old WKD Balou Breeze (Balou Du Rouet x Cavalier Royale), sandwiching Ireland’s Robert Blanchette and Chardonnay into second place.
