Pierre Baber Claims Victory in Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round at Moores Farm Equestrian Centre

Bristol’s Pierre Baber outpaced all of his rivals on Saturday to claim victory in the Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round at Moores Farm Equestrian Centre on Ulysses W.

This win secures them a place in the final at the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool on 16th – 20th November.

Nine of the sixteen starters reached the final jump-off, with Pierre taking the winner’s spot with a double clear by 2.09 seconds with a penultimate round flyer on his own Ulysses W, a Jetset-D x Ulster 15 year-old bay gelding he has ridden for five years.

Alyssa Wright from Wolverhampton in the West Midlands rode into second place on Lady Royale, a Corland x Cavalier Royale 13 year-old grey mare owned by Andrew Wright that she has competed for two years. They clocked up their double clear in 39.10 seconds.

Taking third with a double clear and finishing a further 1.81 seconds in arrears was Erica Watson from Broadway, Worcestershire and her own Blue Boy sired Imagine Blue, an 8 year-old bay gelding she has produced for the last four years.
