PATHWAY HORSES ENJOY SUCCESS IN EUROPE

World Class Showjumping Equine Pathway horses have enjoyed tremendous success over the weekend, whilst competing at CSI1*/2* Fontainebleau, France.

Uno II, a nine year-old chestnut gelding, owned by Rebecca Stones and ridden by Stuart Harvey, jumped two foot perfect clear rounds to take third place in the Gold Tour Grand Prix. Added to that, they also jumped a clear round to take fourth place in the 1.45m Speed Competition.

Veni Vidi Vici V, an eight year-old chestnut stallion, owned and ridden by Catherine James also produced two foot perfect clear rounds to take the runner-up spot in the Bronze Tour Grand Prix.

The World Class Show Jumping Equine Pathway, now in its third year, is identifying young horses that have the potential to develop into medal winning horses.

Pathway horses enjoyed incredible success during 2009, winning the Foxhunter Championship, the 7 & 8 Year-old Championship and the HOYS Grade C Championship at the 2009 Horse of the Year Show and the Individual Gold Medal at the Junior European Championships. In addition pathway horses have been regularly placed in the International Stairway competitions throughout 2009 and have represented Great Britain on Nations Cup Teams.

The Pathway programme works with and supports the riders and owners of selected horses in order to help them maximise the horses' potential.
