The Squibb Group Pony Bronze League 138cm & Under Final was won by local rider, 11 year old Lucy Douglas-Jones from Coventry. Aboard Kantjes Zamontinaro, Lucy jumped to the finish in record time at the British Showjumping National Championships taking place at the NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire.
The Heart of England Pony Club member was thrilled with her win and commented: “I was really nervous to begin with when I was going into the arena but it felt amazing to win here at the championships. I have had my pony since April and he is just the best! I have been in a couple of classes already and it has gone really well. I was second yesterday in the Stepping Stones class and I also competed in the National Schools classes.”
The Bronze and Silver Pony/Rider Combination League was introduced by British Showjumping in 2014 and allows all pony riders to be able to track their progress on a regional and national league table. The qualification period runs from the 1st April – 30th June. There are three leagues; Bronze, Silver and Gold and they are split into three height categories of 128cm, 138cm and 148cm.
