Lesley Paton claims top spot in the final Horseware Bronze League Qualifier at Highfield at Howe

Securing the top spot in the final Horseware Bronze League qualifier was Lesley Paton when she fought off stiff competition at Highfield at Howe in Giffordtown, Cupar.

With the field of determined competitors all looking to claim one of the final three coveted qualification spots available for the Horseware Bronze League Semi Finals, a competitive display of showjumping followed. A challenging course caused poles to fall across the first two rounds, leaving just five talented combinations to take on the newly shortened course against the clock in the final jump off.

Lesley Paton from Burntisland, Fife jumped to victory with her 16 year-old dark bay gelding, Quin Kannan. This partnership dominated the jump off as they not only delivered the fastest round but they also left all the fences standing for a treble clear in 44.19 seconds.

Second place went to David Brown from Cambuslang, Glasgow riding his 8 year-old bay gelding Americo. This combination were on course for a clear before rolling a pole at the penultimate fence to cross the finish line in 45.85 seconds with 4 faults.

Taking home third place was Ashley Grant from Cumbernold, Lanarkshire on board her 8 year-old bay mare Badgerhill Euro. This pair stopped the clock in 48.80 seconds with 4 faults.
