Keysoe International CSI** - Day One

Tuesday 05 July 2016

Chelsea Skelton doubled up on day one at Keysoe International CSI**, heading the final class of the day, the 1.40m, with Caramba after taking the morning’s 1.10m on Cheleko GB Z.

Thirteen of sixty-nine starters posted first round clears to reach the 1.40m jump-off, with Chelsea bagging the top spot by 0.29 of a second on Caramba, a Wolfgang H 9 year-old gelding. And Chelsea also took sixth on second ride Millfield Baloney, their probable third dropping to sixth with a rail on the floor.

Amy Inglis brought Every Way, a 12 year-old Upsilon Van De Heffinck mare, into second with Phillip Miller in third on the Zidane x Silverstone 8 year-old gelding Darona.

Chelsea topped the 1.10m with the 14-year-old gelding Cheleko GB Z with 1.70 seconds in hand. Oliver Fletcher took second on Dahar with Lucinda Huzzey in third on the 11-year-old gelding Roucayrol.

Abbie Crippen and her Allington Arena UK CSI** speed winner Vilka B were again at their speedy best in the 1.30m, commanding the win by an amazing 3.38 seconds. Abbie considers this 14 year-old mare is in her twilight years.

“I jump her economically, she’s having an easy life but she’s still naturally quick and enjoying herself round the smaller tracks,” said Abbie.

Gemma Ellison took second on Zilverster, a 12 year-old Silverstone x Corland grey mare she has competed for almost two years. Kayleigh Watts and Charmeur, a Calvaro Z 9 year-old gelding bred in Scotland by Beth Gillespie and a winner on the Spanish sunshine tour for Kayleigh, took third.

Ellen Whitaker topped the 1.20m on the 11 year-old mare Virginia IV, finishing 1.13 seconds ahead of Tegan Jones with the 11-year-old gelding Apart EA.  Aimee Jones and the 10 year-old mare Biance BC took third.
