Kerrie Goodwin is Victorious in the Horseware Bronze League Semi-Final at The College Equestrian Centre, Keysoe

Kerrie Goodwin knocked the competition out of the water as she jumped to victory in the Southern Horseware Bronze League Semi-Final held at The College Equestrian Centre, Keysoe on Sunday. With this win, Kerrie has secured her place in the Championship Final which will be held at this year’s Horse of the Year Show in October.

Sixty-one eager combinations began the day with their eyes on one of the seven qualification spots up for grabs and it proved to be a fierce competition as after the first two rounds, nineteen combinations were still in contention heading into the final jump off.

Kerrie made the journey from St. Albans, Hertfordshire with her own 20 year-old chestnut gelding, Roscoes Golani. This pair provided two consistent clears before heading into the jump off, where they really let rip. Crossing the finish line with a third clear in an amazingly fast time of 31.58 seconds, their time proved truly unbeatable.

Laura Upton from Ashford, Kent scooped up second place riding her own 8 year-old bay mare, Rockabye Baby. This pair were unable to match Kerrie’s speed but they did leave all the fences standing to post a treble clear in 33.16 seconds.

Easing into third place was Luke Humphrey from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire on board his own 17 year-old dark bay mare, Soraja. From a second place draw, Luke kept the pressure on from the beginning after posting a treble clear in 33.58 seconds.
