HORSE & HOUND FOXHUNTER SECOND ROUND AT WALES & WEST

Joe Clayton swept the board taking both Horse and Hound Foxhunter qualifying places at Wales and West on the 2nd August. Joe who is based with his uncle Michael Whitaker at Whatton, Nottinghamshire took both qualifying places when finishing first and second. First place went to Nancy Pinchen’s Ashkari a British bred, 8 year old bay mare by Tornado who jumped three clear rounds the final one in 47.12 seconds. A very close second was Nick Ward’s Haddon House Wild Rose II, a 16.2hh 7 year old bay mare who completed her third clear round in 47.18 seconds.
Third place went to Robert Sanddon riding his own Champion II, fourth to Daniel Neilson riding Chauvinist and fifth to Justin Tuff and White Star II.
Joe and his two rides qualified to compete at the Horse of the Year Show to be held at NEC, Birmingham from 6th to 10th October 2010.
The first five combinations also qualified to compete at the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival being held at Stafford County Showground from 29th August to 4th September 2010.
