The Horse and Hound Foxhunter second round at Ingliston Equestrian Centre, Scotland saw two more combinations qualify for the Horse of the Year Show which is to be held at the NEC, Birmingham from 6th to 10th October 2010. Also on offer were five qualifying places for the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival being held at Stafford County Showground from 29th August to 4th September 2010.
With 10 combinations in the final jump off, 18 year old James Smith from Kirkcudbright, Dumfries was first to go riding his mothers (Leona Smith) 7 year old bay mare Winday II set the standard with a clear in the time of 37.16 seconds. Still in the lead with just one to go James was certain of a place at the Horse of the Year Show. Last to go was Scott Brash from Peebleshire who proceeded to jump a clear round in a time of 36.41 seconds taking first place on Elizabeth McTaggart’s 7 year old bay gelding Waterstone II, qualifying for both the Horse of the Year Show and the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival.
Also qualifying for the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival was Mark Turnbull riding Ursula XII, Alex Thompson riding Casall George, Stephen Lohoar riding Cara Mia and Nicola Sheard riding Just Call Me Max.
