Holly Smith dominates the British Horse Feeds Speedi-Beet HOYS Grade C Qualifier at The Royal Highland Showcase

Holly Smith from Loughborough, Leicestershire dominated the British Horse Feeds Speedi-Beet HOYS Grade C Qualifier at the Royal Highland Showcase on Thursday as she took first place riding Avalon Sunset B and jumped into second place with Billy Sarafina.

Course designer Mark McGowan set a challenging test from the outset with eighteen of the fifty-seven initial starting combinations producing a clear round for a spot in the jump off. Riding Avalon Sunset B, an 11 year-old Irish bred gelding owned by Anne Bondi, Holly set the pace with an unbeatable double clear in 46.82 seconds to take the win. She then went on to claim second place with another solid clear round this time riding Dean Vernon’s 8 Year-old British bred bay mare, Billy Sarafina.
