GOLD AND SILVER MEDALS FOR OUR HOME PONY INTERNATIONAL TEAMS

The recent Welsh Home Pony International was held at the David Broome Event Centre in Chepstow. The England 138cm team brought home a Gold medal being the only team to finish on a score of 0. The team consisted of 13 year old Katie House from Bridgewater, Somerset riding Michelle Poole’s bay mare Lucy VIII who jumped a double clear. 14 year old Beth Adams from Halesowen, West Midlands riding the brown gelding Guinness Special who jumped clear in the first round and lowered 2 fences to be the drop score in the second round. 13 year old Kerstin Deakin from Newcastle Upon Tyne riding the grey gelding The Agent who although having 8 faults in the first round managed to jump a clear in the second round. The final member of the team was 14 year old Darby Ward from Cheshire riding the grey gelding More Than Milton who also jumped a double clear to secure the Gold medal.
The 128cm team of Abbie Taylor, Harry Charles, Taylor Ward and Ella Popely finished on a score of 4 faults which saw them bring home the Silver medal behind Ireland.
The 148cm team of Daisy Hughes, Danielle Lawrence, Elodie Hales and Charlotte Jose had to jump off against the home team for the Silver medal position with Wales finishing on 4 faults the England team brought home the silver finishing on a score of 0.
