Emma-Jo Slater scoops the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Round at the Crofton Manor Equestrian Centre

Scooping her second ticket to the British Showjumping National Championships, Emma-Jo Slater topped the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Round held at Crofton Manor Equestrian Centre near Fareham, Hampshire on Saturday.

A strong starting field of thirty-two combinations set out to secure a place in the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final which is to be held at the British Showjumping National Championships in August, but the technical course took its toll as just ten competitors were left to jump again in the final round.

Emma-Jo Slater from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire kept a cool head to deliver three consistent clear rounds on board Kimba Uttah, a 5 year-old bay gelding owned by Kim Barzilay. This partnership flew round the jump off course to leave all the fences standing with seconds to spare as they crossed the finish line in 43.85 seconds.

With another three combinations also achieving a treble clear, a total of four combinations now go forward to the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Rounds Final.
