Emma Augier de Moussac Makes Her Mark at HOYS 2015

Czech Republic rider Emma Augier de Moussac continued the successful international flavour at Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham when she won Friday's opener.

After international class victories on Thursday for Sweden's Angelie von Essen and Frenchman Julien Epaillard, De Moussac led the way in the Alan Jones Memorial Trophy.

Riding the grey stallion Wembley, De Moussac, who was born in France and has a French father and Czech mother, clocked 54.16 seconds to win the one-round speed class and land a first prize of £1,320.

British challenger Nicole Pavitt finished just 62 hundredths of a behind with Areeb O.I, while Sweden's Jonna Ekberg was third on Freestyler.

It was a memorable way for De Moussac to mark her Horse of the Year Show debut, and she said: "I am delighted.

"I used to ride this horse before, but then I exchanged with my sister, and I got the ride back last week after seven months not riding him.

"Coming here, the plan was to win some classes, and it is a very nice feeling to have done that. The crowd is wonderful, and I really enjoyed it."

The Alan Jones memorial Trophy is awarded in memory of Alan Jones, a well respected FEI Show Jumping judge and President of the appeals committee at HOYS for 16 years who sadly passed away this year.
