Dorset Showground Hosts an EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Second Round

Dorset Showground in Gillingham was the host venue for the fourth of this year’s EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Second Rounds. The class was held on Saturday 7th June 2014 and eighteen eligible horse and rider combinations contested it.
All of the starting combinations were aiming to produce a treble clear as required to qualify for the EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held at the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival.
After first having to produce two clear rounds, eight combinations made it through to the final jump off and of these combinations, six then went on to secure the sought after third clear.
It was 23 year-old Gemma Hallett from Wellington, Somerset who took the winner’s spot on her own 13 year-old grey gelding, Sparkling Indulgence. Drawn third to go in the final jump off, the combination produced their immaculate treble clear in a time of 39.28 seconds to clinch victory by nearly three seconds.
Second place was taken by 21 year-old Callie Chant from Salisbury, Wiltshire riding her own 6 year-old grey mare, Betty Blue. This combination produced their treble clear in a time of 42.23 seconds.
Third place went to 19 year-old Eloise Guy from Alton, Hampshire on board her own 6 year-old bay mare Carnavals Wonder. Their treble clear was delivered in 47.60 seconds.
With another three combinations also going on to produce a treble clear, a total of six combinations will now go forward to the EQUILIBRIUM Products Senior Discovery Championship Final.

The Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2014 will take place from the 24th – 30th August 2014 at Staffordshire County Showground.
