Dodson & Horrell 1.05m & 1.10m National Amateur Second Rounds at The Cabin Equestrian Centre

The Cabin Equestrian Centre in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire was the host venue for two Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds last weekend and in both the 1.05m and the 1.10m second rounds, two combinations qualified for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships which take place next month (18th-22nd November) at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool.
Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round
Clare Pearson from Dalry, Ayrshire led this second round from the start on board her own 7 year-old bay gelding In Contention. This combination secured the victory after producing only double clear of the class in 38.38 seconds.
Seventeen year-old Elinor Macdonald from Invergordon, Ross-Shire finished in second place with her own 8 year-old dapple grey gelding Hunter of Beauty. This combination was unfortunate to pick up 4 faults at the first fence of the jump off, but they clocked up a good time of 40.22 seconds

1st Clare Pearson & In Contention – 0/0 – 38.38 seconds
2nd Elinor Macdonald & Hunter of Beauty – 0/4 – 40.22 seconds

Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Round
Improving on her result from the previous day was Elinor Macdonald who was again competing on Hunter of Beauty. Elinor secured the win in this second round after achieving the sought after double clear result in just 53.94 seconds.
Robert Sinclair from Peterhead, Aberdeenshire finished in second place after delivering a double clear on board his own 15 year-old bay gelding Cartoon II. They crossed through the finish in 58.97 seconds.

1st Elinor Macdonald & Hunter of Beauty – 0/0 – 53.94 seconds
2nd Robert Sinclair & Cartoon II - 0/0 – 58.97 seconds
