Dodson & Horrell 0.95m and 1.10m National Amateur Second Rounds at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds held at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre in Broxburn, West Lothian drew a large number of competitors, with fifty-five combinations coming forward to compete across the 0.95m and 1.10m Second Rounds.

Qualification for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 14th – 19th November, was in everyone’s sights.

Taking her place at the top of the leader board was Lucy Rennie from Ayr in South Ayrshire riding Jim Wilmer’s 12 year-old bay gelding Parkhill Legacy. Against a talented eighteen horse jump off this pair proved to be a tough act to follow as they left all the fences standing in just 44.88 seconds, a lightning fast time which the remaining competitors just could not catch.

Taking home second place with a double clear was Natasha Brown from Airdrie, Lanarkshire on board her 6 year-old grey mare, Goldie I. This partnership crossed the finish line in 47.79 seconds.

Isla Stewart from Ayr, South Ayrshire secured third place with Lucinda Stewart’s 9 year-old bay gelding, Burtons Rising Star. This combination stopped the clock on a double clear in 48.35 seconds.

6th Richard Nichol & Arland H - 0/4 – 42.93 seconds

7th Astell Easdon & Gora II – 0/4 – 49.75 seconds

8th Alana Mcculloch & Conny WH – 0/4 – 49.81 seconds

Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Round

Competing in a hot class that saw just three combinations make it through to the final jump off, it was Lucinda Stewart from Ayr, South Ayrshire who picked up the pace on board her 11 year-old bay gelding. Glow DK to post an unbeatably fast double clear in 53.56 seconds and secure first place. 

Lucy Rennie claimed her second qualification spot of the day riding Jim Wilmer’s 12 year-old bay gelding Parkhill Legacy. This combination delivered the final double clear of the class as they crossed the finish line in 58.32 seconds.

Lucinda Stewart continued her form as she took third place on board her 8 year-old dark bay gelding, Cancun II. This partnership rolled a pole at the final fence to finish in 46.72 seconds with 4 faults.
