Dodson & Horrell 0.85m, 0.95m and 1.10m National Amateur Second Rounds at Pyecombe Horse Show

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds held at Pyecombe Horse Show in West Sussex proved popular with competitors as seventy-seven combinations came forward to compete across the 0.85m, 0.95m and 1.10m Second Rounds.
With qualifying for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool between the 16th – 20th November, a priority, each competitor was focused on taking one of the twelve direct qualifying places on offer in each class.

Monica Ballard from Sittingbourne, Kent rode into first place on board her ever consistent 18 year-old bay mare, My Amazing Grace. This pair produced a clear performance in the first round and left plenty in the tank to step up the pace in the jump off. They crossed through the finish with another clear round in the bag in 40.83 seconds.
Second place went to Bryony Padwick from Brighton, West Sussex and she rode Leesa Long’s 16 year-old bay mare, Tiffany II. This pair provided the quickest clear in the first round to more than earn their place in the jump off. They also secured a double clear and did so in 41.56 seconds.
Anna De Verteuil from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire snapped up third place with the 9 year-old dun gelding, Dun Over, owned by Victoria Morton. This pair were also double clear in 44.09 seconds.

Scooping up the top spot was Southerly Roberts from Hook, Hampshire on board her own 11 year-old bay mare, Tinx. This pair cruised through the first round producing one of the fastest clears and went on to replicate this form, posting their second clear in a blistering 38.85 seconds.
Jack Moore from Ditchling, West Sussex fought hard for second place riding his own Watinka, a 13 year-old chestnut mare. The pair jumped two foot perfect rounds to stop the clock in 40.85 seconds.
Third place went to Eleanor Jones from Ashford, Kent riding her own 7 year-old grey mare, Silver Chablis. His pair posted a double clear in 48.71 seconds.

Hannah Tiley from Horsham, West Sussex posted two scorching rounds on board her own 8 year-old bay mare, Amaryllis III. Crossing the finish line in the jump off in just 35.20 seconds, they flew straight into first place.
Second place was taken by Olivia Carroll from Bexley, Kent riding her own 8 year-old grey mare, In Time Van De Nachtegaele. This partnership left all the fences standing to complete a double clear in 38.82 seconds.
Riding into third place was Tagatha Payne from Welwyn, Hertfordshire on board her own The Maharanee, an 11 year-old dark bay mare. This combination posted their double clear in 44.06 seconds.
