Day 4: British Showjumping National Championships

Nupafeed Supplements National Senior Discovery Championship Final started off the day in the Andrews Bowen Indoor Arena and the competitors wasted no time in their attempt to secure the Championship. Emma Jo- Slater riding Bambi Van Het Huikven took first place with a superb round. What followed was an exciting day of Championship finals including the 128cm and 148cm. The day ended with an exciting finale, a Horse of the Year Show International Wild Card Qualifier. Max Routledge thrived under the pressure of the competition and completed the jump off in a fantastic time of 34.69 seconds.

The All Weather Arena One played host to an extremely entertaining group of preliminary rounds including the National 1.15m Members Cup Championship which saw Rebecca Mason riding Miserden Imprezza fight her way into first place. The day ended with the Consolation Final of the National 128cm Championship and Pony restricted Rider 1.10m Classes saw the title go to Izzy Goddard riding Gelvin Castle Grey and Ms Chloe Coulthard riding Pielview Conker.

Arena Two offered a variety of entertainment today with the National 4YO Championship Preliminary round 2, which showcased masses of potential and caused excitement for the final. The NAF 5* Final gave Alex Deighton and Ochil Star an opportunity to show what they could do and left the spectators delighted with the overall performance of this class. The National B&C Championship Preliminary Round Two saw 6 combinations take their spot in the final with Matthew Sampson and Dolanda ranking in first place. Arena Two concluded with the Wright Hassle U16 Championship Preliminary Round 2 which brought to light the most successful qualifiers of the selection process who made it into the final.

Ring 8 hosted the National Club Horse League Finals today, in which club members from all over the country competed in four different height classes for the National title. In an impressive showcase of club talent, it was Sally Mcnaughton with Gunnar Mason who took home the 0.7 metre Championship Title. Karen Wornham riding Cattano ADZ followed suit taking the top spot for the 0.8m Championships. As the competition progressed, combinations battled neck and neck for the remaining 0.9m and 1.00m titles. In the end it was Rachel Davison with Aztec Fantasia and Roxanne Hennebery and Brighton Boy who took the titles respectively.
