More HOYS tickets are won at Coombelands Summer Pony Premier Show

Coombelands Equestrian hosted the next Summer Pony Premier show where riders continued to showcase their talent in order to bag themselves a ticket to the Horse of the Year Show.
In the Enablelink 128cm HOYS Qualifier, 26 combinations took on the 1.10m track, which was reduced to 11 for a hotly contested final jump-off. Anya Dewey-Clark reigned supreme once again, this time riding Anna Clarke’s Kilcreene Snapdragon to victory for the second show in a row. The competitive pair crossed the finish line in 29.16 seconds and were the only ones to break the 30-second barrier. Alfie Bailey came home in second place with Jessica Williams’ Ice Queen TW, 2.26 seconds off the pace whilst Kiki Arthur steered Rita Russell’s Colliyers Pal Joey around for third place, just 0.13 seconds further afield. Evie Whitaker, riding Katie Whitaker’s Barleyfields Button, slotted into fourth place and picked up the final qualifying ticket, a further 0.09 seconds in arrears.
Next up was the Demolition Services Ltd Pony Showjumper of the Year Qualifier, where 20 gutsy combinations came forward, the challenging track meant that only four would advance to the jump-off. It was Cate Kerr who led the way with Nicole Rogers’ Queen Star, the pair flying through the finish in an uncatchable time of 33.41 seconds. Raphaela Dawson, riding Karan Dawson’s Maifield Another Sunrise, continued her good form to pick up second place with the only other double clear of the class, 1.55 seconds off the winning time. Jack Waddington, piloting Jaqueline Barrs’ Conella II slotted into third place with the fastest four-fault round whilst Maisie Allsop and Vaughann De Vuzit picked up fourth place, having withdrawn for the jump-off knowing their qualification was secured.
The final qualifier of the weekend was the CT Equine Collection 138cm HOYS Qualifier. Thirty-two starters in round one became five for the jump-off where Phoebe Crossman rode her way to top spot with Gethyn Mills’ Jimdone but the slightest of margins. Just 0.01 seconds separated her from second placed Portia Taylor-Wilson and Rebecca Clay’s Whitethorn Smokey, who jumped the only other tiple clear of the class. Alexander Leggot finished in third place with The Blossom Stud’s Blossom’s Letterkeen Bettyn, having tapped out two poles in the jump-off. Portia Taylor-Wilson, this time riding Mirehill Mist, owned by Rebecca Clay, also picked up joint fourth with Annabel Widdowson, who was piloting Beverley Widdowson’s Unsphinx Dhurl Vent, both riders opting to withdraw before the jump-off.
