Monday 28 October 2019

Tickets for CHI Royal Windsor Horse Show 2020 (Wednesday 13th to Sunday 17th May), will go on sale on Tuesday 29th October 2019. The prestigious annual Show, now in its 77th year, takes place in the private grounds of Windsor Castle for a five-day celebration of top-level international equestrian sport and is a mecca for equestrians.
Royal Windsor remains the only UK event to host first-class international competitions in four of the FEI disciplines: Showjumping, Dressage, Carriage Driving and Endurance, attracting some of the biggest names in equestrian sport, including Olympic, World and European champions.
Jumping and dressage are both highlights of the Show. The jumping classes offer five days of national and international competition, ending with The Rolex Grand Prix on Sunday 17th May, which has a prize fund of over €366,000. Always a popular show on the global circuit, the 2019 edition featured six of the world’s top 10 show jumpers and 2020 is expected to once again deliver the finest level of sport.
The CDI4* Dressage competition will take place on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th May, with the Al Shira’aa Grand Prix and Al Shira’aa Grand Prix Special respectively. The three-time Olympic gold medalist, Charlotte Dujardin, dominated in 2019 ahead of Olympic teammates Carl Hester and Richard Davison. The three are likely to be looking to rekindle the rivalry in 2020.
The CAIO4* Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix, an FEI World CupTM Qualifier, is one of the principal Driving events in Great Britain. The event takes place across four days of the Show and includes three stages; Driven Dressage, the Marathon and Cone Driving, making it the ultimate test of horsemanship and a fantastic spectator sport.
Horse and rider stamina and teamwork will be tested during the Royal Windsor Endurance, which will take place on Friday 15th May. The 80km and 120km long distance rides follow courses through the beautiful Windsor Great Park.
In addition to the elite sporting action, ticket holders will enjoy performances from the The Musical Ride of the Household Cavalry Regiment, The Household Cavalry Mounted Band and The Musical Drive of The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, as well as fan-favourites, The Land Rover Shetland Pony Grand National and DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games.
The Show offers a fantastic day out and attracts crowds of more than 55,000 each year. Alongside the international competitions are more than 120 showing and national jumping classes, plus outstanding equestrian displays from around the world. Visitors can also enjoy the shopping village with its 220 fashion, lifestyle and equestrian boutiques and delicious food outlets. In addition, ‘Royal Windsor Live’ offers musical entertainment, Q&A sessions with equestrian stars and numerous activities for children.
Tickets will be available from just £9 and allow general access to the showground, including unreserved seating for the daytime performances in the Castle Arena, with reserved seating available for dressage performances.
