Brooke Holson Lands Summer NAF Bronze League Victory at Pyecombe
Tuesday 19 May 2026

The NAF Five Star Summer Bronze League Qualifier at Pyecombe Horse Show delivered an exciting day of competition at the weekend, with 51 rider combinations coming forward to tackle Keith Bristow’s challenging course.
The technical track proved influential across the opening two rounds, with riders needing both accuracy and consistency to keep qualification hopes alive. After a demanding competition, only five combinations managed to secure those all-important clears and book their place in the jump-off.
With qualification for the next stage on the line, the jump-off produced plenty of pressure and fast-paced action. It was Brooke Holson who ultimately came out on top riding her own Chesnut Dumas Garnier. The pair delivered a superb clear round in a winning time of 35.81 seconds to take victory and secure qualification.
Second place went to Jassy Pyke aboard Kimba Flamenci, who produced the final clear of the jump-off to stop the clock in 38.90 seconds and claim the runner-up spot after another impressive performance.
The class showcased excellent competition throughout the day, with riders now looking ahead to the next stage of the Summer Bronze League series.
“Chestnut is co-owned with my mum and I, we got her last summer. I work full time at the Royal Marsden Hospital, and my horses are my absolute love. I normally just have babies to bring on, produce and sell. She’s the first one I have ever had who is a bit older and mature. It’s amazing to have one that I can go out and do these classes with and enjoy her; it’s a first for me having one that’s a bit older. It’s the first year I have contested the Bronze league, and the first qualifier we have done. I went to the show with the hope of having a lovely day, and it was just brilliant to qualify. She only wants to jump, that’s all she wants to do.
“Pyecombe is great, they are super accommodating and kind, I go there often training and competing on my own and they help me like I am family, it’s so lovely. Felbridge is great as well, our venues in the South East are incredible, so supportive I’m so lucky! The courses were nicely built and rode very well, the second round caught a few out, it was quite big and only five went through, so I knew what I needed to do. My mare has a short stride but is quick, scoots around and can do the smaller turns more easily than the longer striding, bigger horses.
“It was amazing, Chestnut absolutely loved it there, she loves to jump and was pinging, having the best time and I was mainly hanging on! She’s been brilliant, I had an accident on one of the babies last summer and fractured my skull and eye socket, so we had a quieter summer. She has picked me up, encouraged me and carries my spirits which has been incredible for me, we get on so well. I am so grateful to her. She will stay with me and have a foal when she’s older, maybe one day I will be able to jump so bigger classes with her which I have never had the chance to do. Its inspiring! Working on call shifts in a hospital as well, I have to play things by ear, but I have put in my leave request already for the semi-final, I will beg, borrow and steal to get that time off!” Brooke said.
