British Equestrian Federation invites TASS Applications

Applications for the 2010/2011 Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) will open on Thursday 1st July and remain open for entries until Friday 30th July.
Applications are invited from eventing, showjumping, dressage and para-equestrian dressage; there are also some awards available for the non-olympic disciplines. The TASS awards are made annually and will take effect as of the new academic year, which begins 1st October 2010 and runs through until 30th September 2011.
The Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme is a government funded programme which represents a unique partnership between sport and higher education, created to assist Great Britain’s most talented young athletes.
The following criteria are used when determining an athlete’s eligibility:
· Aged between 15 (16 by 1st June 2011) and 25 years (35 for Para-Equestrian disciplines)
· Recognised from performance profile to be a potential future international winner
· Commitment to an agreed annual training programme
· Commitment to an agreed annual competition (where appropriate)
· Meet minimum academic entry requirements
· Studying at/with an organisation based in England
