BILLY TWOMEY WINS NAYLORS ACCUMULATOR AT HOYS

Riding the grey gelding Tin Tin, Irish rider Billy Twomey led a field of 29 riders with a time of 44.61 seconds having accrued the highest tally obtained within the competition of 65 points.

The competition format is one where points are gained for each fence cleared with a maximum of 20 points to be won at the Joker fence. Points are then deducted for any fences down including any lost at the Joker making it an incredibly exciting class to watch.

Matching Billy’s points albeit in a slower time was Belgium rider Francois Mathy with Falco van de Clehoeve whilst GB’s brightest young star, Jessica Mendoza took 3rd place with Silverstar Farm’s bay gelding Wan Architect.  4th place went to Yazmin Pinchen with her mothers home produced bay mare Ashkari.

“I am very lucky that I have a horse that’s very quick and has a very big stride so that combination gives you a good chance of winning a class like this” said Twomey.
