Amanda Stevenson Claims the Top Spot in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Petley Wood Equestrian Centre

The sun shone on Petley Wood Equestrian Centre in Battle, East Sussex on Saturday as Amanda Stevenson and Whitesmith Jeneva took the top spot in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round to book their place in the Championship Finals in August.
The Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final will be held at the British Showjumping National Championships and with only four second rounds left in this series after this one at Petley Wood Equestrian Centre, each competitor had their sights set on gaining a treble clear that would give them a sought after qualification place. Nine talented combinations made it through to the final jump off and eight of them went on to produce a treble clear, leaving it up to the all-important clock to decide the final placings.
Amanda, who is from Lewes, East Sussex, galloped in to first place riding Russell Stevenson’s 6 year-old bright bay mare, Whitesmith Jeneva. Drawn in the middle of the jump off, this pair produced an unbeatably fast treble clear in 41.59 seconds.
Second place was scooped up by Lucy Brachet from Dover, Kent riding her own 9 year-old bay mare, Develine II. Posting a considered and correct round, this combination crossed the finish line on their treble clear in 43.11 seconds.
Catherine Fowdrey from Polgate, East Sussex claimed third place riding her own 7 year-old bay mare, Emalia. After being drawn early on in the jump off, Catherine had her work cut out to gauge the field but managed to pull off a careful treble clear in 44.56 seconds.
With another five combinations also achieving a treble clear, a total of eight combinations now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.
