Alfie Bradstock Blows the Competition Away to Win Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Weston Lawns Equitation Centre

Having competed in his first Equestrian.com Hickstead Derby just the day before, Alfie Bradstock went on to beat off seventy-seven other competitors yesterday to take victory in the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Weston Lawns Equitation Centre in Bulkington, Warwickshire.

The showjumping was fierce as each competitor came forward with the hope of producing a treble clear to be in with the chance of securing one of the just two direct qualifying places on offer for the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Championship Final at this October’s Horse of the Year Show.

Fifteen of the original starting field achieved a double clear for a place in the final jump off and it was Alfie who lead that third and final round from start to finish after producing an unbeatable performance.

Alfie, from Wantage in Oxfordshire delivered the fastest treble clear of the class on board Graham Fletcher and KBIS British Equestrian Insurance’s 7 year-old chestnut gelding KBIS Blown Away. The combination went first in the jump off and they produced their third immaculate round in 45.31 seconds. This performance was to prove unbeatable.

Claire Shepherd from Middleton, Manchester took the second qualifying spot with her own 7 year-old dark bay gelding El Diablo Grande. Clare steered her mount to a treble clear in 46.69 seconds to push her nearest rivals into third.

With the two direct qualifying tickets for the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Championship Final having already been allocated, the combinations in third to fifth took home the chance to compete in the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
