Alana Hood is crowned winner of the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Second Round in Fine Style at Tillyoch Equestrian Centre

16 year-old Alana Hood is off to Horse of the Year Show after taking victory in the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Second Round at Tillyoch Equestrian Centre on board Miami Sandyman.  The win assures them of a place in the Championship Final which will be held at this year’s Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) at Birmingham’s NEC in October.

Of the nineteen starters, only three jumped clear to fill the three qualifying HOYS places, Alana from Cupar, Fife guiding Miami Sandyman, an eight-year-old dun gelding she has ridden for three years, into the top spot.

15 year-old Bunty Pipe from Ongar, Essex jumped into second place with the 11-year-old Cavaliers Royale Princess, a mare she only started competing in May.

Rebecca Bowden aged 14 years-old form East Lothian took third with Norbet, a 14-year-old Irish-bred gelding who joined her in December.

Taking Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Masters places and another qualifying chance at the British Showjumping National Championships in August are: fourth-placed Maia Andrews on Miami Carwyn and Alexander McLean, in fifth aboard Lady Springfield.
