A Global Entry for Keysoe International

International showjumping returns to The College Equestrian Centre at Keysoe, Bedfordshire, from 2-4 July, with appearances from some of the sport’s biggest stars.
Four-time Hickstead Derby winner William Funnell is a regular visitor to Keysoe, and he returns once again, bringing with him a formidable string of five Billy Stud rides. He’ll go head to head with one of Britain’s leading young riders, Georgia Tame, who rides her Hickstead Under-25 Masters champion Clintofino, as well as Shane Breen’s Derby superstar Can Ya Makan. World Equestrian Games British team member Holly Smith brings forward two entries, while elsewhere in the entry list, it’s a showdown between the young guns of showjumping’s biggest dynasties. Stay tuned as Joseph Stockdale – son of the late Tim Stockdale – rides off against Tom Whitaker, nephew of Michael and John, and Harry Charles, son of Peter.
Once again, Keysoe has attracted an impressive international entry to its summer showcase competition. Six nations feature in the line-up, with strong entries from the US and France, including Laura Kraut’s protégé Julie Welles, and former US junior champion Maggie McAlary.
The three-day competition will host classes at two international levels, and with €50,000 in prize money on offer. There will be CSI2* classes on offer from 1.10m through to 1.45m, with Thursday’s €25,000 1.45m Keysoe Grand Prix serving as the competition’s feature class. For five- and six-year-olds, there will be a selection of CSIYH1* classes on the schedule, ranging from 1.10m to 1.25m and offering spectators the chance to enjoy a first glimpse of top riders’ up-and-coming superstars.
“It is good to see our regular supporters coming back, and also really pleasing to see new riders in the list giving us a try. There seems to be an exciting mix of the household names of showjumping, plus some exciting new talent coming up the ranks.
