Team LeMieux win FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Pony Final in Opglabbeek

The British Pony Team, competing under the title sponsor banner of Team LeMieux, won the FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Pony Final earlier today in Opglabbeek, Belgium and they did so in convincing style.

Great Britain qualified for today’s Nations Cup Final Competition after having finished in equal first place alongside Germany and The Netherlands in the Nations Cup First Round on Thursday. All three nations finished with zero penalties.

The Brits carried this fantastic form through to the final this morning and were the only nation able to produce a zero penalty score again, a result which sealed the win. Germany finished in second place on a total of 5 penalties with Ireland taking third on 6 penalties.

Megan Li, aged 15, from Chalfont St. Giles, Buckinghamshire got the team off to a fantastic start both today and on Thursday when she delivered superb clear rounds on board Harry, a 16 year-old bay gelding owned by Alex Li.

Megan’s rounds were then mirrored by Tatiane Mauree, aged 14, from Newbury, Berkshire who secured clears on both days on her ride Horseabout Zibu, a 9 year-old bay mare owned by Arlina Mauree.

Lila Bremner, aged 16, from Swindon, Wiltshire came into the team of four for the Final Competition and produced an immaculate clear with Lapislazuli, a 9 year-old dun gelding owned by Tessa Bremner.

Last up for GB was Claudia Moore, aged 14, from Brentwood, Essex. Claudia bagged the all-important third clear round on Thursday with Delflip, a 12 year-old bay mare owned by Katrina Moore, ensuring that the team would secure qualification for the Final Competition. Such was the strength of her teammate’s performances today, Claudia wasn’t required to jump as the win had already been wrapped up by the three clear rounds produced earlier.

Red Morgan, aged 15, from Malpas, Cheshire was the third rider in on Thursday and he rode Bodyssee des Avelines, a 12 year-old dark bay owned by Didy Morgan. Their round was to be the discard score for the team after they incurred an unfortunate elimination.

The Chef d’Equipe accompanying the team was Clare Whitaker and for full results, visit https://online.equipe.com/en/competitions/33665.
