Equiyd National Amateur Second Rounds at Parwood Equestrian Centre

Parwood Equestrian Centre played host to the Equiyd National Amateur Second Rounds on 6–7 September, where riders competed for the coveted chance to secure their place at the upcoming Equiyd National Amateur Championships. The Championships will be staged at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool from 11–16 November, with the top eight horse-and-rider combinations in each class qualifying—provided they produced a clear round in the first stage of their qualifier.

The action began in the 85cm class, with 16 starters taking on Alison Naylor’s inviting course. Ten made it through to the jump off, but it was Ellie-May Payne aboard La Bamba IV who delivered a smooth double clear in 40.13 seconds to take the win. Sophie Jones riding Jannan Des Imoo followed closely behind in 42.05 to claim second, while Megan White with Young Loula completed the podium, clear in 42.64.

In the 1.10m second round, nine riders took on the challenge, with six making it into the jump off. Cassandra Cope produced a standout performance on Hamlets Fire, delivering the only clear in 43.32 to secure first place. She also claimed second aboard Michelob, though an unfortunate fence down left her just outside her winning time. Nuno Ferreira with KNH Louis rounded off the top three in 45.67, but with four faults on the board could not threaten Cope’s dominance.
