Charles Owen launches new EQX brand

Charles Owen, the Official Helmet Sponsor of British Showjumping, are excited to announce the launch of a new brand today, EQX.

EQX will offer affordable riding helmets and equipment with next level style and performance for its customers.

CEO of Charles Owen, Dave Derby, comments, “The Charles Owen name has long been synonymous with the best in equestrian safety and innovation. We recognised a year ago that our customers were under growing pressure to keep up with the increasing cost of living while still keeping their horses. So, we set about designing a collection under a new brand name of EQX which specifically gives riders a much more affordable riding helmet, at a lower price than they may have seen from us before, but without any compromise on safety.”

The EQX brand launches with its hero style, the Kylo helmet, with more products to follow in the months and years ahead. Kylo is the company’s first dial-fit helmet and holds three international safety standards, including PAS015:2011.

Head of Innovation, Matt Stewart, explains, “We’ve future-proofed this helmet for our customers by ensuring it complies to the PAS015:2011 standard.

The Kylo will be unaffected by the upcoming changes to the European VG1 standard and the US ASTM standard so customers can buy this style safe in the knowledge they won’t have to change their helmet again when the new standards are launched”.

The Kylo helmet is available in black or navy, matte or gloss with a standard or wide peak. Customers can also choose to add MIPS. Prices start from just £88.

Dave Derby adds, “Kylo is the result of 12 months of hard work, investing in new design practices and exploring different routes to market. We’ve had to think outside the box when it comes to sourcing and procurement, to guarantee the highest performance materials for the lowest price. This allows us to deliver this stunning helmet for such an affordable price.

EQX represents an exciting new offering from Charles Owen to service a specific customer need.

However, our current customers can be assured that there will be no change to our core Charles Owen range, with more designs on the way in the months to come!”.

The revolutionary Kylo is set to take the equestrian-world by storm. The sport’s biggest riders and influencers are already promoting and wearing the helmet and thousands of helmets are leaving the Charles Owen factory doors in preparation for Badminton, where customers will see their first glimpse of the beautiful new Kylo helmet.

The launch campaign features social media equestrian influencer and social media star
Gemma Owen, alongside World Eventing Champion Yasmin Ingham, watch the launch video here.
