 National 1.30m Open Championship Final

The National 1.30m Open Championship title was deservedly awarded to Reece Oliver and  Urlanmore Aldi. Out of the 38 starters, Reece was one of 15 who moved forward into the jump off. The pair have only been together since April but it certainly didn’t show as they navigated their way around the 1.30m course. “The jump off was very technical and you practically had to gallop down to the single oxer on the long side which caused problems for a lot of horses. I had to keep checking Aldi down the long side to ensure he didn’t become to fast and flat. He is naturally a quick mover and excels when he is in a jump off or speed class,” explains Reece, who bought Aldi and his other ride in the class, Costalot who placed fourth, from Matthew Sampson. Second place was Zoe Adams with Satonamillion.
