Dodson & Horrell 0.95m and 1.10m National Amateur Second Rounds at The Cabin Equestrian Centre

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds held at The Cabin Equestrian Centre in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire pulled the talent in with 22 combinations coming forward to compete across the 0.95m and 1.10m Second Rounds.
With qualification for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 16th – 20th November, the aim for each rider, two fierce classes of competition ensued.
Dodson & Horrell 0.95m National Amateur Second Round
Continuing her winning streak from the week before in the 0.85m Second Round at Tillyoch Equestrian Centre, Jennifer O’Neill from Newmachar, Aberdeenshire added another National Amateur qualification to her belt as she rode Wendy O’Neill’s 14 year-old grey mare, Chellijana Z to victory. Showing her determination, Jennifer posted the fastest clear in the first round to head up the six horse jump-off. The pair had the win all sown up from the start when they posted an unbeatable second clear round in 42.22 seconds.
Second place went to Alistair White from Falkirk, Stirlingshire on board his own 8 year-old bay mare, Hanleen O Tess. This partnership used their final draw to good effect as they posted a double clear in 52.89 seconds.
Scooping up third place was Ryelle Caulfield from East Ayrshire who posted the final double clear of the class in 53.17 seconds on her own 8 year-old bay gelding, Beech Dude.

Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Round
After tackling the technical course in round one, just two combinations were left to fight it out for first place in the jump off.
Natalie Devlin from Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire took victory in fine style, posting the only double clear on board her own 9 year-old bay mare, Coulters Candy, in 42.26 seconds.
Seventeen year-old Stuart Muirhead from Aberdeenshire slipped into second place on board Merllyns Mon Dena, a 15 year-old chestnut mare. This pair posted a speedy round in 40.69 seconds but had three poles down for 12 faults.
