Dark Deer Croft, Inverness-shire – First Club Show 2013
The new British Showjumping venue Dark Deer Croft in the beautiful surroundings based in the North of Scotland held their first Club Show on Sunday 12th May. Although there was a cold wind the weather stayed dry and the number of competitors that attended was fantastic.
Our newly assessed Club Course Designer, Shane Merriman built an inviting course to encourage everyone round and Full Judge, Morgan Quennell made the Journey from Inverurie for the day.
Starting at 60cm up to 1m the courses accommodated the level of competitors that came along perfectly. The feedback from the day was superb and everyone said they would be back next month.
The venue owner, Siobhan MacDonald and her team worked tirelessly prior to the event meeting the demands from British Showjumping to ensure everything was in place from safety cups to wooden poles. The enthusiasm to run British Showjumping at this venue is a breath of fresh air and with clinics already running with Accredited Coach, Ernest Dillon and UKCC qualified coach, David Harland, this venue along with shows will be hosting the new Highland Junior Academy.
