Fairfax Continue Sponsorship of the British Showjumping Pony, Children, Junior and Young Rider Teams

As part of their continuing support of the sport, British Showjumping is pleased to announce that Fairfax Saddles have committed to their second year of sponsorship of the British Showjumping Pony, Children, Junior and Young Rider Teams.

Fairfax Saddles also sponsor the Winter JA Classic Championship, an alignment which fits perfectly into their sponsorship portfolio of investing in the future.

The riders selected for the British Showjumping Youth Teams are passionate about showjumping and committed to achieving results for Great Britain. Since 1980, these Teams have won a total of 145 medals. The Youth Teams ensure that talented combinations are given international competition experience to assist their future development in addition to enjoying podiums at their respective Nations Cup competitions and European Championships.

Last year, following on from the success of the Fairfax Performance girth (which was kept secret to give a competitive advantage to Team GBR), Vanessa Fairfax, Director of Fairfax Saddles, focused on creating a showjumping saddle to improve the horse’s performance. The new Fairfax Jump saddle was developed and tested using the same pressure mapping and gait analysis technology. It incorporates a patented two-part panel design, which gives the horse’s shoulder greater freedom of movement, allowing the horse to move more naturally and flex both shoulder and knee joints freely. Trials have shown that this makes the horse neater in front giving at least 5cm more fence clearance.

With a background in International showjumping and having ridden in the team environment herself, Vanessa understands the needs of the professional rider. Fairfax’s showjumping saddles are designed by professionals for professionals and the team behind these saddles have a background in international competition and saddle design together with two decades of English saddle-making experience.

Vanessa said of the announcement “Our alignment with the Youth Teams last year was a very successful one, allowing us to reach an audience of young riders who are receptive to the scientific advancements and technology that assist with the development of their performance. This summer will see us attending a number of shows and viewing trials where we will be able to showcase the scientific breakthrough of our use of scientific pressure mapping and gait analysis systems in product design.”

Maria Clayton, Head of Communications at British Showjumping further commented “We are thrilled that Fairfax Saddles are continuing their support as title sponsors of our youth teams for 2014. Their sponsorship is extremely valuable to the sport as a whole as it assists numerous Pony, Children, Junior and Young Rider teams to travel abroad each year, giving our youth riders international experience and Championship opportunities. The team at Fairfax understand our sport implicitly and are as committed to assisting with the future development of our sport as they are to meeting their own commercial objectives and their ongoing support is something we cannot thank them enough for.”
