Excitement Builds as More HOYS Tickets are Won at Chard Equestrian Summer Pony Premier

The penultimate Summer Pony Premier show took place this past weekend at Chard Equestrian Centre where young riders continued to shine as their secured their tickets to the Horse of the Year Show.
First up was the Demolition Services Ltd Pony Showjumper of the Year Qualifier, where twenty five came forward over the challenging 1.35m track. It was Ella Spencer who led the way with Emma Spencer’s Rouet Rouge, the pair producing the only clear in round one to take the win in their first ever Pony Showjumper Qualifier. Michael McColm picked up second place with Gordon Roper’s Luxs Little lady as the fastest four fault round, whilst Sophia Rogers slotted into third place with Nicole Rogers’ Queen Star, also on four faults.
Next up was the Enablelink 128cm HOYS Qualifier, where 24 combinations took on the 1.10m course, these reduced to three for the jump-off. Once again, the class was one with a sole triple clear, the win going the way of Alfie Bailey and Priestwood Special Edition, owned by Aniela Inceman. Anya Dewey Clark rode into second place with Anna Clark’s Jim (Cobid)on four faults and despite riding the fastest jump-off, Kobi Hunter Watt slotted into third with Fay Vooght’s Derraveragh Two Ton, having tapped out two poles.
The final qualifier of the weekend was the CT Equine Collection 138cm HOYS Qualifier. Thirty-eight starters became six for the jump-off where Tabby Morgan-Evans rode her way to top spot with Karan Dawson’s Churchfield Tulla Bluebell in an unbeatable time of 34.92 seconds. Lucia Caroline filled second and third place with Katie Sawers’ Chahca Real Smooth and Lee Caroline’s Houla Oups Ed’s, crossing the finishing 0.31 seconds and 0.75 seconds respectively behind the winning pair.
