Douglas Edward and Golden Boy De Jarsay Strike Gold at Bogenraith Redpost Foxhunter Second Round
Tuesday 07 July 2026

Bogenraith Equestrian played host to the Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Second Round at the weekend, where 22 horse-and-rider combinations took on Shaun Sands' challenging course in pursuit of qualification for this year's Horse of the Year Show.
The track proved a true test, with only six combinations producing two faultless rounds to secure a place in the jump-off, setting the stage for an exciting battle against the clock.
Rising to the occasion was Douglas Edward, who partnered his own Golden Boy De Jarsay to an impressive clear round in 43.04 seconds, securing the win and booking their place at the Horse of the Year Show Championships.
Finishing just fractions behind in second place was Chloe Templeton aboard My Boy X. The combination also delivered a faultless jump-off round, stopping the clock in 43.22 seconds to join Douglas in qualifying for the prestigious championship at the NEC Birmingham this October.
Rachel Williamson completed the podium with Maynor HBF, producing the final clear round of the jump-off in a time of 44.35 seconds.
The top two finishers, Douglas Edward with Golden Boy De Jarsay and Chloe Templeton with My Boy X, now look forward to representing themselves at the Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Championship at the Horse of the Year Show this October.
“We have had GB since he was a four year old, so six years. I have been an eventer for pretty much most of my riding career and GB was bought as an event horse, but it became apparent pretty quickly that he was far too careful cross country so wasn’t going to be any use as an event horse. That’s why we ended up showjumping, I also had quite a big accident cross country on another horse a few years ago so it kind of suits me just nicely to jump coloured poles these days. It has just kept progressing from there as he has turned out to be so good showjumping.
“We have jumped a couple of Fox second rounds already but have had poles in the second and third rounds but this time we manged to pull a treble clear together which was also quick enough in the jump off to get us the spot. We are delighted to win and pick up the qualification for HOYS, it’s not something you expect to achieve every day. We did qualify for the Newcomers final last year and had four faults in the first round, it was great experience and useful having now qualified for this final. We know GB will go into the arena confident, he is as brave as they come and isn’t worried by the big atmosphere. I have applied for us to be considered for the GB Veteran Teams so we hope to be successful, then we look forward to HOYS in October.” Douglas said.
