Bronze and Silver League Semi-Finals Round Up

Competitors came from far and wide last weekend to contest the North and South Bronze and Silver League Semi-Finals. Horses and riders from Scotland, the North, Wales and West Midlands travelled to North Semi-Final at Bishop Burton College in East Yorkshire, whilst those based in the East Midlands, East, South East and South West went to the South Semi-Final at The College Equestrian Centre, Keysoe in Bedfordshire. 

Up for grabs at each of these semi-finals were seven direct qualifying tickets for the Bronze and Silver League Championships at the Horse of the Year Show (Wednesday 8th October - Sunday 12th October 2014). The Championships are scheduled to be held on the Wednesday and are due to start at approximately 08.45am.

NORTH
Bronze League Semi-Final – Saturday 9th August 2014
This semi-final was contested by forty-seven starters, twenty of whom went through into the final jump off. In total, six combinations achieved a treble clear.

5th Rose-Marie Kenyon & Topshot Million – 0/0/0 – 36.85 seconds
6th Lauren Sisson & Harry X – 0/0/0 -37.38 seconds
7th Lydia Parrott & Pip Squeek T – 0/0/4 -31.07 seconds

Silver League Semi-Final – Saturday 9th August 2014
Forty-seven combinations also came forward for this semi-final and ten went on to contest the final jump off, in which three went on to secure a third clear.

SOUTH
Bronze League Semi-Final – Saturday 9th August 2014

Fifty-six competitors started out in this semi-final and twenty-five went on into the final jump off. Ten combinations delivered a treble clear, which meant that the clock was to become crucial in deciding the allocation of the qualification places.

Silver League Semi-Final – Sunday 10th August 2014
This semi-final saw forty-eight combinations come forward and an impressive total of thirty-one went on to contest the final jump off. Fourteen treble clears were produced in total and the times proved to be key once again.

NB: Qualifications will be updated pending official grading of results.

The Horse of the Year Show 2014 will take place from the 8th – 12th October at the Birmingham NEC.
