British riders are still in the hunt in the Longines FEI World Cup Final

Luck wasn’t with Britain’s riders in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Final leg II in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and all three made one mistake apiece.

Seven of the 32 starters jumped initial clears and remarkably, the top two were a repeat of Leg one. World Number 1, Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann, again claimed a sensational victory on the phenomenal King Edward ahead of fellow countryman Peder Fredricson aboard Catch Me Not S. Thus, these two sit at the top of the table.

But there is still a long way to go, and the British riders are still in the hunt and in the top 11.  Ben Maher and Dallas Vegas Batilly dropped one place to seventh in the overall standings, nine penalty points behind the leader. Jessica Mendoza moved up to 10th place on I-Cap CL Z and Scott Brash with Hello Valentino sits in equal 11th place alongside Germany’s Marcus Ehning.

The third and final leg is scheduled for Saturday, 20 April, with Round A starting at 15:45 hrs KSA/13:45 hrs BST. Round B will commence at 19:35 hrs KSA/17:35 hrs BST.
