Amy Inglis hits the heights in Hagen.

Fourteen year old Amy Inglis from West Sussex travelled out to Hagen, Germany last week to compete at the CSIOP International Show.

Amy partnered her mothers (Claire) and Mandy Hall’s ten year old bay gelding Nils D’Hurl Vent in both the Grand Prix and the Pony Nations Cup Team.

Putting in a solid performance in the team competition Amy jumped one of only two double clears in the whole competition playing a major part in the team’s final finishing position of second place. The rest of the Pony team consisted of fourteen year old Emily Roe from Lincolnshire riding Aroldo. Thirteen year old Graham Babes from Scotland riding Dollar Girl and fourteen year old Christie Pritchard from Wales riding Kilcloghan Dg Clover.

The Pony Grand Prix was held yesterday and once again saw Amy put in a superb performance on the ever consistence Nils D’Hurl Vent. With thirteen combinations jumping clear in the first round and making it into the jump off Amy knew that a fast clear was needed to hold off the competition. Doing just that Amy came home clear in a time of 37.94 seconds that proved good enough for second place with only the Danish rider Jessica Toelstang managing to beat the time. Amy’s team mate Emily Roe also made it in to the jump off of the Grand Prix riding the fourteen year old grey gelding Aroldo. Emily was up on the time coming home in 37.78 seconds but lowering just one pole for four faults finished in fifth place.
