Tabitha Kyle jumps to victory in The Stable Company HOYS 138cms Qualifier at Scottish Home Pony

 

The penultimate The Stable Company HOYS 138cms Qualifier was held at the Scottish Home Pony which took place at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre in Broxburn, West Lothian and it was Tabitha Kyle who secured a first place finish with a stylish clear round.

Thirty-one starters came forward to claim one of the three places on offer for The Stable Company HOYS 138cms Championship Final held at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show in October, over what proved to be a challenging course. With some difficult questions being asked of both pony and rider, only one round was need to decide the winner.

Making the journey from Loughborough, Leicestershire worthwhile 10 year-old Tabitha Kyle jumped straight in to first place on board Playboy Van De Zoetewei, a 6 year-old bay gelding owned by Tanya Kyle. This combination were able to produce the only clear round of the competition to stop the clock in 80.41 seconds.

Victoria Thompson, aged 14, from Cookstown, County Tyrone took home second place riding Colin Thompson’s 11 year-old skewbald gelding, Triple Treat. This pair had a pole down at the first fence on what was otherwise speedy and precise round leaving them on four faults to cross the finish line in 75.24 seconds.

Scooping third place was 13 year-old Marnie Green from Guide, Blackburn riding Koraika, a 15 year-old bay mare owned by Samantha Green. This pair finished with four faults in a time of 78.75 seconds.

2nd Victoria Thompson & Triple Treat – 4 – 75.24 seconds

NB: Qualifications will be updated pending official grading of results.

The Horse of the Year Show 2017 will take place from the 4th – 8th October 2017 at Birmingham’s NEC.
