Robert Murphy crowned the National 1.40m Champion 2018

In the first leg of the HOYS International Wild Card qualifier on Friday, which also incorporated the National 1.40m Championship, fourth placed rider Robert Murphy was crowned the National 1.40m Champion with Newbridges Chablis SW. Robert, from Preston in Lancashire, won the title being the highest placed eligible rider in the class.

Robert explains: “I went into the jump off with no expectations; I just wanted him [Newbridges Chablis SW] to try his best. Considering there were some strong combinations in the class, such as Ellen Whitaker with Casaktie, I couldn’t be more pleased with our rounds.”

Already this season Robert has been at the Junior European Championships where he gained a Silver Medal. He has only been competing Newbridges Chablis SW for just over a year so they are looking forward to competing at some more international shows.
