Results from the Winter Pony Championships 2017 at SouthView Equestrian Centre

Following two days of exciting competition at the Winter Pony Championships 2017, six new Champions have now been crowned. The Championships took place at SouthView Equestrian Centre in Wettenhall, Cheshire during the 1st – 2nd April and the results were as follows:

Codie Mcgowan, aged 10, from Kilmarnock, Ayrshire won the 128cms Springboard Final on board Andrew Hulme’s 19 year-old bay gelding Rotherwood Dinky Toy.

The 138cms Springboard Final was scooped up by 14 year-old Claudia Harding from Sunderland, Tyne & Wear and she headed the class on Cheeky Chap, a 16 year-old bay gelding owned by Helen Harding.

The winner of the 10 Years and Under Style and Performance Final was 7 year-old Connie Mensley from Thurcaston, Leicestershire on Gemstone Sienna, a 10 year-old skewbald mare owned by Charlie McDonald.

Tilly Shaw, aged 11, from Grantham, Lincolnshire topped the 11 Years and Under Final with Darosa D Amour, a 13 year-old grey stallion owned by Jodie Shaw.

The 128cms/138cms Handicap Special Final was won by 12 year-old Regan Weston from Thatcham, Berkshire and she rode Mr Richie, a 17 year-old bay gelding owned by Natalie Weston.

Twelve year-old Hannah Barker from Northallerton, North Yorkshire became the 148cms Special Champion with Lynn Barker’s 13 year-old dark bay gelding Ammanvalley Santino.
